The Saint Cloud City Council unanimously approved three ordinances (20-25-43, 20-25-44 and 20-25-45) to annex about 28.6 acres for a project identified as NOVA n 192, assign a commercial future land use and adopt a planned unit development zoning designation.
Melissa Dunklin, director of community development, summarized the requests as "the voluntary annexation, comprehensive plan amendment, and PUD, planned unit development zoning map amendment for the project known as NOVA n 192." She told the council the request met statutory requirements, was contiguous to city limits, "is reasonably compact and will have no adverse impacts on the city facilities and is compatible with the surrounding area."
Curtis Arrington of Sam Arrington and Associates, the applicant's representative, said he was available to answer questions. No members of the public spoke against the items during the public hearing.
Planning staff had recommended approval and the planning commission also recommended approval. The council approved each ordinance by separate roll call votes of 5-0.
