Bedford supervisors adopt FY 2025–26 county and school budgets

The Bedford County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted and appropriated the fiscal year 2025–26 budgets for Bedford County and the Bedford County School Board.
County staff member Ashley told the board that a May 12 public hearing on the proposed FY26 budgets drew no speakers for or against and that the board had recommended no changes; she requested adoption and appropriation of the budgets as presented. “Funds would become available July 1,” Ashley said.
Supervisor Tuck moved to adopt resolution R052725-03; Supervisor Johnson seconded. The roll call recorded yes votes from Supervisors Johnson, Tuck, Bainsley, Parker, Sharp, Davis and the chair. The motion carried.
The adoption implements the budgets the board considered at the public hearing; the transcript does not show any subsequent amendments or line-item changes at the meeting. County staff will make funds available on July 1 in accordance with the adopted appropriations.
