The Napoleon City Council directed the law director to draft legislation permitting the Ohio Department of Transportation to perform rehabilitation work on U.S. 6 and U.S. 24, including bridge repairs and replacements inside the city’s corporate limits.
City staff described the project limits from Route 6 near Westmoreland to the Route 6 river bridge and said ODOT had requested local legislation using their standard form. “Anytime ODOT wants to work within the city's corporation limits, they require legislation from the local municipality,” City staff member Chad said. Staff told council ODOT hopes to have the necessary local authorizations by Sept. 1 and that there would be no cost to the city for the project.
Councilmembers did not propose amendments and voted to direct the law director to draft the ODOT authorization. The motion passed on roll call with “yes” votes from Councilmembers Britney; Ross; Ken; Bobby; Jordan; Tom; and Doctor David. The agenda identified the project as ODOT PID 11052462411.324.62.
