What was presented Doctor Gutierrez introduced the item and said the donation would ‘‘improve the campus for our athletes.’’ Jennifer Morley, representing the Quarterback Club, told the board the existing locker-room space ‘‘has experienced noticeable wear and no longer meets the functional and safety needs of our student athletes’’ and that the club had earlier documented staph infections tied to crowded conditions. Morley said the club would ‘‘cover all the costs associated with this remodel’’ and requested the work be completed before the upcoming football season.
Board action Trustee Delagarza Lopez moved to approve the donation and Trustee Sofia Pena seconded. The motion passed 7–0.
Ending Trustees thanked the Quarterback Club members, booster parents and campus staff for fundraising efforts and said upgrades will benefit student athletes.
