McAllen Independent School District announced a migration of its student information system from the district’s current Skyward Student Management System to Skyward Cumulative, with a planned full go-live on July 14, 2025. What administrators told trustees Judith Escamilla, Executive Director for Technology, and Angela Allen, Director of Student Operations, said Skyward Cumulative is a hosted, cloud-based system that will provide improved availability and on-demand dashboards for district users. The migration timeline includes closing Skyward online registration on June 10 and reopening registration in the new system July 15; administrators said student outreach, campuses and the district will support families during the transition, including help with passwords and reinstallation of the Skyward app. Allen said historically new-registrant volume during the June–July window is low and the district has enrollment staff ready to assist families.
The transcript migration Administrators also said NeedMyTranscript has been acquired by Parchment; district-issued transcript requests will move to the Parchment platform. Officials set a final free-transcript request cutoff of June 18 for graduates in classes of 2020–2025 and plan to publish a Parchment link when the new system goes live on July 14. District staff said current students will not see significant differences but graduates may face fees under Parchment for some requests once the migration is complete.
Support and communications District staff described a communications plan that includes videos, campus-facing guides, web pages and push notifications reminding families to delete and reinstall the Skyward mobile app when the new version goes live. Student Outreach and campus staff were identified as front-line helpers for families who need step-by-step assistance.
Ending Trustees received the report for information; staff said they will publish how-to materials and support parents during the registration and transcript transition.
