Board members raised questions about the relative value of the land being discussed and requested comparative options before taking final action. Board members asked staff to produce cost estimates for building a dedicated radio tower on district property or locating equipment on district-owned buildings as alternatives, and to obtain an appraisal of the portion of land the city seeks. "I think it's appropriate to look at alternatives so we can compare the true savings," a board member said during the discussion.
What happens next: Administration said it would provide cost estimates for erecting a district-owned tower at the new administration site, research other district-owned sites for feasibility and seek an appraisal of the property portion described in the IGA. The matter was on first reading; the board did not adopt the agreement at this meeting.
