The Bartlett Board of Mayor and Aldermen on May 13 approved a resolution amending the Bartlett City School budget to prepay the final payment of a compromise and settlement agreement for $608,001.93 and to prepay a FY26 OPEB payment of $500,000.
Mr. Phoebus, the city’s director of finance, told the board the amendment originated with the Bartlett Board of Education and that the remainder of the budget amendment uses capital-projects funds for architectural services and building improvements. The mayor noted the city will make its final payment to the school board in the FY26 budget to match the $608,001.93 prepayment.
The board also approved Resolution 14‑25 authorizing a four‑year lease for 903 13‑inch MacBook Air computers for the Bartlett City School System. Phoebus said the city sent a preauthorization letter to the state Comptroller’s Office and received approval; the Bartlett Board of Education will sign a memorandum of understanding indicating the school board will make the lease payments directly to Apple.
Both resolutions were approved during the consent agenda and recorded as carrying; the meeting record shows motions and seconds with no recorded dissent.
