"They were virtually, in our teachers' perspectives, the same tool in some ways. So with that in mind, they felt confident that both tools had everything that they needed," Holly said. The board moved and seconded the motion to approve the adoption; the clerk called the vote and the motion passed unanimously.
Administrators said the curricula comply with Oregon health education requirements and relevant statutes (including AIDS/HIV instruction and Aaron’s Law compliance noted in the packet). No additional budgetary details were discussed during the motion; staff said teachers will receive implementation supports.
