Trustees reported that public safety staff moved into the village's new public safety facility on Monday, May 19, and that operations including arrests and processing have been conducted from the new site.
"They successfully moved in on Monday the nineteenth. We're kinda getting settled in," Trustee DeJaco said during the Public Buildings and Properties report. She said the department was processing arrests from the new facility and that computers and phones transitioned successfully.
Trustees noted several remaining punch-list items. DeJaco said the garage floor requires evaluation and that the village is waiting for a concrete company to assess required repairs. "Last time I checked, they acknowledged that they were waiting for the concrete company to come out and evaluate it," DeJaco said.
A fence around the facility is planned but had no firm installation date; trustees said weather delayed the contractor and expected the fence to be installed the following week if conditions permit. The village also expects to give Will County Center for Economic Development representatives a short tour of the new facility during a scheduled meeting.
No formal vote or budget amendment was taken at the meeting; trustees said staff will continue working through punch-list items and coordinate installation of the fence and final move-related tasks.
