County receives notices of quarry permits, metal-yard expansion and a private septic permit

One notice listed a GP‑11 general operating permit for portable nonroad engines at a quarry site on 2645 Savannah Road in Shenango Township; the other listed GP‑3 and GP‑11 permits for a quarry facility at 1508 Jockey Moore Road in Wayne Township.
A third letter from Frank B. Taylor Engineering, signed by Levi Feasel, said Elwood Specialty Metals plans a gravel laydown-yard expansion at 499 Honey Bee Lane in Wilmington Township and will submit a post-construction stormwater management and erosion-and-sediment-control plan to DEP.
A fourth Frank B. Taylor Engineering letter notified the county that Richard L. Jones of 173 Grange Hall Road in Scott Township is applying for a NPDES (National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System) general permit for small-flow treatment and a water-quality management permit for a single-residence sewage treatment plant to replace a malfunctioning septic system at 139 Grange Hall Road in Scott Township.
Commissioners accepted the communications into the record by motion and roll call; no county action or objection was taken during the meeting. The notices document that DEP permitting processes will apply to the listed projects.
