Delaware County Council approved a Community Crossing matching grant totaling $486,430 at its May 27 meeting to pave several county roads covering approximately 5.8 miles.
Carrie Dye of County Highway told the council the grant funds will cover paving on 650 East between Centennial and 350 North; River Valley between Priestfort and 900 West; County Road 271 East (Willman Road) from 1200 North to 1300 North; and 1200 North from State Road 3 to Walnut Street, a combined distance she estimated as about 5.8 miles.
Dye also told the council this was the first call for 2025; she said the state (NDOT) froze the second call while it reviews the program after a cited house bill, so the county expects only one round of Community Crossing awards in 2025.
The council approved the motion (moved by Jessica, seconded by Dan) by roll call.
