Board approves sale of Daybrook building; staff and programs to be relocated

The Monongalia County Board of Education approved May 27 the superintendent’s recommendation to sell the Daybrook facility, the board record shows.
The superintendent explained there are no full-time students in the building; three to four district employees are currently housed there on an itinerant or part-time basis. The district will relocate those staff members to other convenient sites, and the social events and activities that occasionally use the Daybrook building would be accommodated at alternate locations.
Board members asked about current occupants and transportation needs; district staff said employees who use district vehicles or operate vans would be reassigned. The motion to approve the sale was moved and seconded and the board verbally recorded the motion as carried.
