Suffolk’s tourism development manager gave council a detailed preview of the city’s 2025 summer events, highlighting concerts, farmers markets, movie nights, festivals and library programs across neighborhoods.
Teresa Earls outlined recurring offerings: the year-round Suffolk Farmers Market at the Visitor Center Pavilion (Saturdays 9 a.m.–1 p.m.), the Bennett’s Pasture farmers market (Thursdays 3–6 p.m.), and a returning Bridgeport market. The TGIF summer concert series will begin downtown June 13 and later move to Bennetts Creek Park; headliners include Good Shot Judy, Buckshot, DeLoreans and a Taylor Swift tribute band. "All these events are free and open to the public," Earls said.
Earls listed family and cultural programming: Juneteenth events (June 14 and June 21), outdoor movie nights at various parks, a comedy show, exhibits at the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, and special attractions such as Picklepalooza on July 20 and Crush Fest in August. She said some ticketed indoor events (e.g., Beatles Experience) will continue to charge admission.
Staff advised residents to check city calendars and websites for full schedules and details, and noted vendor, shuttle and accessibility arrangements for major events including Independence Day fireworks at Constance Wharf Park and Taste of Suffolk in September.
