Progression Brewing sale and entertainment approvals cleared with condition to verify fire‑alarm integration

The License Commission voted May 20 to approve licenses for Progression Brewing Company, including a common‑victual license, entertainment license and three automatic amusement device permits (pinball machines), with a condition that live music approval be confirmed after the applicant documents fire‑alarm integration.

Attorney Warren appeared for the applicant and the buyer, Josh Gavira, who told commissioners the business has hosted live music for several years. Captain Stollmeier said she had no documentation on file to confirm the required entertainment‑system response that ties amplification and house lighting to the fire alarm. She asked the licensee to either provide proof of installation or schedule a witnessed test so the Fire Department can verify the system.

Commissioners approved the license package but placed a condition that live music approval depended on having the appropriate fire alarm connection. During the vote the motion language was amended to replace the term “fire suppression” with “fire alarm system” to avoid confusion; the applicant and counsel accepted the condition. The commission’s action allows trivia nights and other permitted activities to proceed while the applicant arranges any required testing or documentation with the Fire Department.
