Sweet Home — City staff told the Park and Tree Committee on May 21 that Weddell Bridge may be eligible for relisting on the National Register of Historic Places and that the city is weighing an application and repair options.
The committee heard that staff submitted a historic resource inquiry to the state historic preservation office in March and was notified in early May that the bridge “may be eligible,” according to an email read aloud to the committee. The state office suggested the city could use previous successful applications as models; application deadlines are July 1 and Nov. 1 and the determination may take up to a year.
