The event will gather tall ships and naval vessels in the Hampton Roads region, with a Norfolk-focused program centered on June 19 that Sherberger said will include ship visits, a parade of sail, Juneteenth observances at Town Point Park, Harborfest programming and coordinated fireworks.
Sherberger said Norfolk already has 22 confirmed sail‑training ships and 24 additional invited ships “for a total of 46 sail training ships representing 20 countries,” and that those vessels will bring “at least 7,000, probably more, crew members” to the port. She added that the U.S. Navy has invited allied warships to a concurrent Fleet Exercise that could add an estimated 26 ships and roughly 8,000 additional crew members.
