Planning staff reported two new applications under review and flagged a forthcoming public hearing on impact fees.
Planning staff member Mackenzie told the council that the department received two new applications: a Take 5 oil change currently under review and a Costco application. Mackenzie said, “They did do a TIA. They're going to have to. They did. I promise. I made sure,” and added that the city’s traffic team at Peyton Boston is monitoring required traffic addenda at the site-plan stage.
Staff characterized the Costco proposal as likely to attract attention from other developers. Mackenzie said each development will be required to provide addenda during the site-plan stage and that the traffic consultant is tracking compliance.
Separately, staff reminded the council that the Jan. 22 City Council meeting will include a public hearing on water and wastewater impact fees. No action on impact fees occurred at this meeting; staff presented the date as a reminder that the public hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22.
No vote or decision about the projects was taken at the meeting; both applications remain under review and will proceed through the city's standard site-plan, traffic and review processes.
