The city clerk reminded advisory board members to file their annual financial disclosure forms with the State Ethics Commission and announced a Sunshine Law and ethics refresher for the city’s advisory boards.
The clerk said members should check their email (including spam folders) for a message from the State Ethics Commission that includes a link for electronic filing. “You must file electronically online,” the clerk said, and noted the commission provides a phone line to help with password resets. The clerk added she is available to assist any member having trouble accessing the system.
The clerk also said the city plans to offer an annual refresher on the Sunshine Law, conflicts of interest and ethics. The refresher will be scheduled after a regular meeting so it can be held outside televised coverage, but it will remain a public meeting, the clerk said. A tentative meeting date of June 17 at 9 a.m. was mentioned on the agenda.
