The consent package the commission read into the record included the May 13 minutes and the May 27 claims list; personnel actions such as a new full‑time patrol sergeant in the sheriff’s office (Nolan Moseley) and animal control hires (Chris Wilder as part‑time Tech 1 and temporary hire Ricky Hughley); and resolutions to apply for COPS grants, including one for the Office of School Violence Prevention.
Road‑department items included approval to advertise bids to widen, resurface and strap County Road 16 between County Roads 37 and 15; a quote acceptance for flashing caution lights at State Route 22 and County Road 45; bids for traffic strap improvements on County Road 42 between County Road 73 and the Jemison city limits; and a resolution to reduce the posted speed limit from 45 to 40 on County Road 152 between County Roads 51 and 42.
Parks and recreation items included authorization for Kara Stallman to apply for a Kawaka RC&D grant and a 2025 community grant for parks and recreation. The consent package also included approval of an agreement with StairCycle to comply with OSHA and authorization for the director to sign.
Commissioners first voted to suspend the rules to consider the consent agenda and then voted to approve it; both motions passed unanimously.
