Felony drug-court participant sentenced to two years after admitting alcohol-use violation

Prosecutors withdrew one alleged violation and proceeded on an allegation that Garcia consumed alcohol in March 2025 in violation of program rules. Garcia pleaded true to that allegation. The state asked the court to revoke her deferred adjudication and sentence her to two years in state jail; the defense asked the court to consider probation-office recommendations to reinstate her in a dual-diagnosis residential program (DDRF) given her prior engagement with that track.
The court reviewed her program history and determined felony drug court had previously moved her between treatment tracks and that she had struggled with compliance. The judge granted the state's motion, adjudicated guilt and sentenced Garcia to two years in a state-jail facility, with credit for time served and credit for successful inpatient treatment if applicable. The court invited Garcia to seek assistance with mental-health and sobriety placements upon release and said it would help arrange placements if necessary.
