Borough Administrator Hager told council members the administration intends to seek authorization to solicit proposals to lease garage space at 115 Raritan Avenue, a property the borough acquired as part of its redevelopment actions.
Hager said two separate entities have expressed interest in using the garage to operate and maintain vehicle fleets. The administration is asking the council to authorize a competitive solicitation; if a suitable, for‑profit tenant is selected, council would later consider authorizing a lease agreement.
“No action was taken tonight to execute a lease,” Hager said. The administrator also said the authorization to go to bid is a procedural step; staff will return to council for any lease approval.
