Commissioners noted the road carries heavy agricultural and industrial traffic and said the road’s condition has caused high repair costs to local vehicles.
Commissioner Ebinger moved to approve advertising for the project with a proposed letting date (motion and date discussed on the record); Commissioner Mongeau seconded. The board approved the motion unanimously.
Clarifying details: staff proposed a letting date and noted easements had been signed by affected landowners as part of prior settlement agreements; staff said a mill-and-overlay was a short‑term option but would not fix underlying drainage issues, so reconstruction is the preferred remedy.
Staff will advertise, open bids on the proposed date, and return with award recommendations.
