Board approves $501,760.55 pay request for tertiary filters and forwards Clean Water Fund loan request

At its May 27 meeting, the Village of Jackson Board of Public Works approved pay request No. 15 for the wastewater treatment plant tertiary filters and disinfection project for $501,760.55 and forwarded a Clean Water Fund loan request (No. 12) for $510,713.05 that includes that pay request and associated engineering charges.
Director of Public Works Jack told the board the new UV system is “up and running” but still in a testing phase because regulatory compliance deadlines have not yet been reached. “UV is up and running, not fully functioning just because due to our compliance, we don't have to be yet. So we're doing some testing with it,” Jack said.
Trustee Engelhardt moved to approve the pay request; Trustee Kripke seconded the motion and the board approved it by voice vote. Engelhardt later moved, and Trustee Mitchell seconded, to approve forwarding the Clean Water Fund loan request to the village board; that motion also carried.
The board also considered Resolution 25-19, adopting the 2024 compliance maintenance annual recommendation, and voted to forward it to the village board. Jack said the DNR will calculate the final grade after the village's submission is entered into the DNR's formula. “Our grade will come after the resolution is put into the formula with the DNR and it's submitted,” Jack said.
No roll-call tallies were recorded in the meeting transcript; votes were taken by voice and the motions carried. The board did not discuss additional financing terms during the public portion of the meeting.
