Board approves $299,636.65 pay request for Ridgeway Drive and Chestnut Court reconstruction

The Village of Jackson Board of Public Works on May 27 approved pay request No. 1 for the Ridgeway Drive and Chestnut Court reconstruction project for $299,636.65.
Director of Public Works Jack told the board the project is “running on schedule” despite a recent rain delay and said crews will make up time by working additional Fridays. “We are running on schedule. A little bit of a rain delay last week, but I believe they're gonna pick that up by working a couple of Fridays in the future,” Jack said.
Jack said staff approved a scope change to use pipe bursting for sanitary laterals rather than open cutting and adjusted storm sewer catch basin inlet sizes to simplify construction and improve final results. “We made a scope of work change to include pipe bursting for the sanitary laterals rather than open cutting. And we also made some adjustments to the storm sewer catch basin size of the inlets, to make it easier to construct and ultimately get a better job for the village,” he said.
Trustee Engelhardt moved to approve the pay request; Trustee Kripke seconded the motion. The board voted in favor by voice and the motion carried.
The director said the scope changes will appear in Change Order 1 and that the contract is tracking close to budget. No formal contingency amounts were reported during the discussion.
Looking ahead, the board did not identify further concerns and closed discussion after the vote.
