Morgantown — The city manager provided a summary May 27 of several proposed budget-revision resolutions that will be presented for formal action at the next council meeting. Because the items require resolutions or appropriations, staff said council cannot act on them at the Committee of the Whole and the proposals will return on the formal agenda.
Items described: Staff summarized (1) transfers within the Police Department budget to cover capital outfitting of vehicles; (2) acceptance of a $75,000 estate gift for the Metropolitan Theatre and movement of that donation into capital escrow for theater repairs; (3) Hazel Ruby Park fund accounting corrections to move previously received grant monies into capital escrow (a bookkeeping correction tied to a 2022 deposit); and (4) airport-related allocations, including streetscape and marketing funds to promote new service. Staff emphasized these are reallocations or acceptance of designated donations/grants rather than new net budget increases.
