Centre County approves $64,049.91 moving contract as Community Services Building readies for June 13 occupancy

The Centre County Board of Commissioners approved a contract on May 23 with On Demand Services LLC to move county offices into the new Community Services Building, county staff said.

“I'm asking for your approval of a contract with On Demand Services LLC in the amount of $64,049.91 for moving services to the Community Services Building,” county staff member Jonathan told the board. Staff said the bid came in substantially under the budgeted amount and that the contractors have specialized government‑moving experience.

Why this matters: the contract covers moving offices from the Willowbank Building and Summit Park into the new Community Services Building; county staff said the project keeps the county on track to occupy the building on June 13.

Jonathan told commissioners the vendor “specialize[s] in government moving. They have moved the Social Security office, IRS, numerous offices like that.” He confirmed the amount is approximately half of what was budgeted, and the board called that a positive outcome.

The board approved the motion to award the contract and staff confirmed the building is on track for occupancy on June 13.
