Probation office reports April caseloads; judgeship vacancy to be filled mid‑July

The probation representative said the office had 117 active juvenile cases and 12 administrative juvenile cases for April, with 42 juvenile court appearances, three detention hearings and eight police referrals during the month. For adults, the office reported 507 active cases and 274 administrative cases. Probation fees ordered for the month totaled $7,800 and $51,000 ordered to date; collections were $2,931.33 for the month and $25,760.51 to date.

Lori (court staff) told the board that Judge Ricullio retired in February and that Judge Vasconi, an associate judge, filled that bench temporarily. She said the vacancy notice has been posted for applicants and that the associate judge position is filled by appointment of the circuit’s eight judges; she said the county hopes to have the position filled by mid‑July.
