"Our name is Raices, which means the roots," Aldana said, describing menu and décor themes that reflect Mexican traditions.
Council discussion and vote: Councilmembers who had visited the restaurant praised the food and the operation. Councilmember Yanes recounted family ties to Mexican restaurants and said he saw professionally run staff; Councilmember Radke and others said they had dined at the business and supported the transfer. Councilmember Zarko confirmed the license had already been approved by the state and described the vote as a local welcome. The council voted to approve the transfer on a voice vote.
