Colfax County commissioners approved a set of updated vector-control service agreements with municipalities and authorized a job posting for a standalone vector-control position capped at $8,000 for the contract term.
The county's vector-control matters were presented alongside a request to increase billing to municipalities to cover higher employment and materials costs. The sheriff's office and maintenance staff will provide occasional support, but county leadership said they do not intend to absorb the program into existing departmental overtime budgets.
Commissioner Carr said he knew of a licensed individual who might apply once the job posting went live. The commission moved to approve the job posting and the agreements (line items 21'25), and the chair called the roll: all commissioners present voted yes.
Justin (finance staff) was directed to incorporate the increased billing in the agreements and to proceed with the job posting. The job posting was described in the meeting as "capped at $8,000 for the term of the contract."
