LACEY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Community leaders and veterans’ organizations gathered for a Memorial Day observance in Lacey Township that featured a benediction, wreath presentations, musical tributes and remarks honoring those who died in U.S. service.
The ceremony opened with brief remarks thanking attendees and a benediction from Reverend Jonathan Campbell of Lacey Methodist Church. Mayor Pete Perotello acknowledged the Veterans Committee, chaired by Bernie Snyder, and introduced wreath presentations from local groups including the Women’s Club (Laura Young), Lacey Elks (Mike Zuma) and others. A high-school senior, Matt Galani, performed Taps and bagpiper Brian Holt provided additional musical accompaniment.

Organizers recognized municipal contributions: Jack Hudson was thanked for setting up sound and the public works elements; the township police were thanked for road closures that allowed the program to proceed without traffic noise. The program concluded with Taps by Matt Galani and a closing prayer from Reverend Campbell. Attendees were invited to remain for post-ceremony activities.
