The Titusville City Council unanimously confirmed two reappointments and one new member to the Titusville Housing Authority on May 27, approving four-year terms through May 31, 2029.
Mayor Connors said he reviewed attendance records for the authority’s last 12 meetings, noting Michael Van Heusen attended 10 and Mary Polk attended 2. The mayor recommended reappointing Van Heusen and appointing Edna Wilson, a Titusville resident and local real estate broker who addressed the council, saying she wants to help find housing solutions for people who cannot afford housing in the city. The council approved the appointments by roll call vote.
The action follows the mayor’s authority to appoint members to the authority with council approval. Wilson, who was present for the meeting, told the council she spends her workdays seeing people who cannot afford housing and wants to serve “to try to find some solutions for our city.” No substantive debate accompanied the vote.
The newly confirmed board composition will serve through May 31, 2029; Mary Polk was not present at the meeting and was not reappointed.
