Council schedules public hearing on transfer of Fire Station 63 to Community Improvement Corporation

The Loveland City Council voted 7-0 to set a public hearing on June 10 to receive comment on the proposed transfer of city-owned Fire Station 63 to the Loveland Community Improvement Corporation (CIC). The transfer would allow the CIC to facilitate a future sale of the property.
City Manager Dave Kennedy said the transfer is governed by the city code provision cited in staff remarks (city code 107.1) and requires a public hearing and ordinance to complete the conveyance. Kennedy said staff have worked with realtors on sale options and that the CIC transfer would streamline the eventual sale process.
Council moved and seconded a motion to schedule the June 10 public hearing; the roll call vote was 7 to 0. The public hearing will be the forum for resident comment, and staff said the council will proceed with first reading at the hearing and consider a final ordinance at a later meeting.
