The Loveland City Council voted 7-0 to authorize the city manager to submit a NatureWorks grant application to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to fund expansion of the Nesbitt Park walking trail.
City Manager Dave Kennedy told council the project would complete the outer ring of the park’s walking trail, add a stone walk down to the river, and construct two interior seating/dissection areas and the gazebo seating areas. Staff said the total estimated cost is $67,000. The city will request the county allocation of $50,002.50 and commit a local match of $16,007.50 if awarded.
Kennedy said advancing the walking-trail work would allow the city to focus remaining internal funds on completing the amphitheater project. Council had no substantive questions and adopted the resolution authorizing submission and committing the local match by roll call vote, 7 to 0.
