Casey also relayed a report from Mr. Sim that many motorists are still failing to stop for school buses on Central Avenue in both directions.
Board members warned that failing to stop for a stopped school bus carries fines and license points. During the discussion a member stated the first offense carries a $250 fine and that repeat offenses increase the penalty. The board encouraged drivers to obey stop-arm signals and emphasized the safety and legal risks of passing stopped buses; no new policy or vote was taken at the meeting.
