Board certifies budget and bus purchase; superintendent highlights budget support and student representatives

The South Colonie Central School District Board of Education certified results from the district’s May 20 annual vote during its May 27 meeting, confirming passage of the operating budget and a school bus purchase and the election of a five-year board member term.
“Proposition 1 was the operating budget passed. Proposition 2, the school bus purchase also passed and [Bridal] Casey was reelected to a 5 year term,” Dr. Perry said as the board recorded the official certification. The board later moved to certify the results by motion; the motion passed unanimously (9–0).
In the superintendent’s update, Dr. Perry thanked voters for supporting the budget and congratulated Vincent Ferenzo, elected as the district’s student board representative for Colony Central High School, and Brody as the alternate. Dr. Perry also noted recognition of the district’s music department by the National Association of Music Merchants and recent sectional athletic results.
