Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools leaders announced several principal and executive director appointments to take effect for the 2025-26 school year, describing the moves as leadership continuity rather than board actions requiring votes.
Dr. Battle introduced promotions from interim to executive principal for Dr. Angela Burns (Alice Green Elementary), Angela Davis (Lakeview Elementary), Juwan Davis (Moses McKissick Middle), Dr. Kate Phan (Andrew Jackson Elementary) and LaDonna Williams (Westmead). "I know you all will join me in congratulating all of these interim to executive principals," Dr. Battle said.
Officials also announced a new executive principal appointment: Dr. Whitney Russell to Englewood Environmental Science Magnet Elementary, and three interim executive principals: Dr. Miller Wallace at Donaldson Middle School; Mr. Keenan Robinson at Napier Elementary; and Ms. Brooks at Whites Creek High School. Dr. Battle said the new and interim principals begin their roles July 1.
The board heard additional support-hub executive director appointments: Dr. Sharonda Beer, Dr. David Martin, Dr. Brian Veil, Dr. Shelly Mendez and Ms. Priscilla Cole, each described in the announcement with experience and district leadership responsibilities. Dr. Battle framed the hires as adding instructional and operational capacity rather than as discrete governance decisions recorded in the meeting minutes.
These personnel announcements were presented as informational updates; no formal personnel votes or approvals were recorded on the public record at the meeting.
