Board approves amended 2024–25 calendar noting two early-dismissal times; SBDM allocations approved as routine
Summary
The Rockcastle County Board approved an amended 2024–25 school calendar adding two early-dismissal times (12:00 p.m. in May and last-day dismissal at 11:00 a.m.) and approved FY2026 SBDM allocations, which staff said are formula-driven based on student counts (no allocation changes were made).

Mr. Redberg and other board members discussed and approved an amended 2024–25 Rockcastle County School calendar that notes two early-dismissal times the district used: a noon dismissal in May and an 11 a.m. dismissal on the last day of school. The board approved the amended calendar by voice vote during the special-called meeting.
Board members also reviewed and approved the fiscal year 2026 SBDM allocations. Staff noted the SBDM allocations are formulaic, based on student counts and teacher-allocation ratios; no changes to ratios were proposed and the presented ratios included 31-to-1 at RCHS, 29-to-1 at RCMS, 24-to-1 for kindergarten through third grade, 28-to-1 for fourth grade and 29-to-1 for fifth grade. Staff said the SBDM allocations are routine approvals and were uploaded for board review (presentation access was affected by Internet issues during the meeting).
Board members moved, seconded and approved both the amended calendar and the SBDM allocations by voice votes. The approvals were recorded as routine operational actions in the meeting minutes.
