Vigo County approves LOA with Omentum to publish property record cards online

The Vigo County Board of Commissioners approved a letter of agreement with Omentum to produce PDF versions of property record cards so they can be posted to Beacon, county staff said at a regular meeting.

County staff said the agreement responds to a change under Indiana law requiring property record cards be available online statewide. "Commissioners, the what I brought for you today, it's an LOA with Omentum, which is our camera provider. And basically, Indiana code started last year that we have to have our property record cards available online," Mr. Gardner said during his presentation.

The LOA covers the work to create the PDF files and deliver them to Snyder so the county’s records appear on Beacon, according to Gardner. Gardner told commissioners that prices for the service "went up a little bit," and that Omentum is the vendor that will produce the files. Commissioners moved and seconded a motion to approve the LOA; the motion carried with all in favor.

The action implements the county’s response to the statutory requirement and directs the vendor to create the file format used by the county’s portal. County staff did not provide the exact contract dollar amount during the presentation and identified Snyder and Beacon as the receiving systems for the PDFs.
