Council adopts ordinance setting 55 mph speed limit on segment of Kenny Fort Boulevard

Round Rock City Council adopted an ordinance on second reading to amend Chapter 42, Section 42‑127 of the city code to set a 55 mph speed limit on the segment of Kenny Fort Boulevard from Forest Creek Drive to the State Highway 45 frontage road.
Staff said the speed change reflects the results of a speed study showing 55 mph is appropriate for that segment. "We're gonna be setting 55 miles per hour for this Kenny Fort segment…based on our study," Michael (staff member) told the council.
The ordinance passed on a unanimous vote after a motion by Council member Fleming and a second by Council member Ortega; roll call recorded all present members voting yes.
