Walton County commissioners approved the final plat for Cat Island Estates Phase 2 on May 22, allowing 39 single‑family lots on approximately 21.33 acres in District 3.
Steven Schoen of the Planning Department presented the application and said it is consistent with a previously approved development order; staff explained that TRC comments were resolved and the planning staff recommended approval. Schoen noted the current plat reflects a reduction in density from the original approval. A commissioner confirmed the staff record shows no wetlands on site.
The board approved the plat by voice vote after the staff report was entered into the record. Staff and the applicant must complete standard plat recordation and permitting steps before construction begins.
