Thompson Woods Phase 2 plat continued as staff and applicant resolve right-of-way and covenants issues

Walton County’s Tactical Review Committee on May 21 continued the Thompson Woods Phase 2 final plat to the June 4 TRC meeting to allow staff to resolve outstanding right-of-way and surveyor comments.
Bob (staff) asked for the continuance because county right-of-way engineering and the county surveyor still had outstanding comments tied to changes in law, and he said the applicant preferred to address those items before moving the plat to Mylar and scheduling the Board of County Commissioners review. Curtis Smith of Nolisville Engineers (representing Nautilus Veil Engineers on behalf of Catherine Development LLC) and the applicant discussed several technical points: whether a 10-foot street tree area in common area should be labeled as a “landscape buffer,” the need to add a plat note addressing shared circulation across phases, and potential shared-use agreements between the Phase 1 and Phase 2 homeowners associations.
Staff and the applicant agreed to continue the item to June 4 in hopes that outstanding comments and signature-ready Mylar drawings could be ready for the June BCC cycle. Committee members moved, seconded and approved the continuance by voice vote with “aye” recorded and no opposition.
