Food truck Tuesdays to start amid Fort Edward peddler-permit fees; two vendors committed

County staff announced that a weekly food-truck lunch program will begin the day of the meeting and run through October. Trucks will be located in front of the DQ shop and serve between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Staff said five or six trucks had initially expressed interest, but a new Fort Edward peddler’s-permit process — a $50 application fee plus an option of $150 for six months or $250 for the year — led several vendors to decline. Two vendors chose to pay and will participate.
The county said it hopes the program will provide lunch options for the public and county employees and will proceed for the season with the two committed trucks.
