Pondera County commissioners on May 21 discussed a dues invoice from Sweetgrass Development and approved a temporary payment at the previous rate while requesting further explanation.
County staff said Sweetgrass recently invoiced $3,000 for the current year and also invoiced for the prior fiscal year; commissioners questioned the late billing and the unexplained increase from a prior annual $2,000 dues level. One commissioner proposed declining to pay the prior-year amount if the billing was not timely. The commission approved a motion to pay $2,000 for the current fiscal year from Blue Sky funds and to request a meeting with Sweetgrass Development for an explanation of the increase and the past invoice. The motion passed by voice vote.
Commissioners discussed whether the county received equivalent value from the membership and asked staff to arrange a meeting so Sweetgrass can explain the rate change and prior-year billing.
