The Jennings County School Corporation board on June 20 approved a contract with Volta IT Testing Services to conduct independent testing of the district’s IT security systems.

District staff said the testing is intended to strengthen cybersecurity and to help satisfy requirements for the district’s cybersecurity insurance coverage. The board moved, seconded and approved the contract by unanimous voice vote (7–0).

No additional technical details, contract amounts or timelines were discussed at the meeting; staff were authorized to proceed with the testing engagement to meet insurance and security-review needs.
