The Bibb County Regular School District board approved a slate of personnel actions at its May meeting, including several resignations, new hires and coach appointments for the 2025–26 school year.

The superintendent presented the personnel recommendations and the board approved them without recorded opposition. Actions included accepting the resignation of William Cody Sellers, history teacher at Bibb County High School, effective May 23, 2025; the resignation of Hannah McGee, special education teacher at Grant Elementary School, effective May 23, 2025; and the resignation of T.J. Morton as head middle school football coach at Centerville Middle School, effective May 20, 2025.

The board approved transfers and new employments for the coming school year: Rebecca Gaither was transferred from Brent Elementary School to Centerville Middle School (special education); Summer Price and David Brennan Morris were approved as teachers at Woodstock Elementary School for the 2025–26 year; Megan Cooper was approved as a teacher at Randolph Elementary School; Jacob Brown was approved as a physical education teacher at West Lawton Middle School; Tyler Hoggle was approved as a physical education teacher at West Lawton Elementary School; and Jameisio Ryan was approved as a special education paraprofessional aide at Bibb County High School.

Coaching and extracurricular staffing approvals included the appointment of Jameisia O'Ryne as head varsity girls basketball coach at Bibb County High School, and approval of volunteers and summer program staff. The board also approved David Steele as a volunteer varsity/middle school football coach at Bibb County High School.

The sick-leave committee approved catastrophic leave for Amanda Shaw, a teacher at Centerville Middle School, for up to 12 weeks; the board noted that approval in its informational items.

Earlier in the meeting the board entered an executive session to discuss personnel matters; the board returned from executive session and then voted on the personnel recommendations during the regular agenda.

The board announced its next work session for Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 10 a.m., and the next regular board meeting for Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at 5 p.m.

The superintendent closed the meeting with brief remarks thanking staff and wishing students and employees a restful summer.
