The Franklin Municipal Planning Commission on May 22 voted to defer action on Ordinance 2025-10, a rezoning request for 19.43 acres at 408 Century Court, to the commission's June 26 meeting after staff reported a mistake in the public-notification mailer.

Planning staff told the commission the address listed in the mailed notice was incorrect and "is now the location of a pile of rubble," and recommended deferral so corrected notices could be sent. "We are requesting deferral to the June 26 meeting so those notices can be resent with the correct address," planning staff said.

There were no members of the public who spoke on the item at the May 22 meeting, and no applicant representative appeared. A motion to defer to the June 26 meeting was made, seconded and approved. Commissioner votes recorded as present and voting aye were: Commissioner Harrison (aye), Commissioner Allen (aye), Commissioner Franks (aye), Commissioner Orr (aye), Commissioner McLemore (aye), Commissioner Williamson (aye) and Alderman Peterson (aye). Commissioners Lindsey and Mann were absent.

The postponement will allow staff to resend corrected public notices; the commission will consider Ordinance 2025-10 at its June 26 meeting when proper notice has been completed.
