The Economic Development Corporation reviewed the draft final Grove at Trophy Club Small Area Plan and directed staff to consolidate the EDC's edits and return a revised final to town council following EDC approval.
EDC staff said the draft, provided to board members on May 6, needs visual and stylistic improvements, factual clarifications in the market analysis, clearer timelines and an action matrix, and a reduced emphasis on hiring consultants to align with town council preferences: "We currently it it currently players like bland and lacks a little bit of professional appearance... De emphasize the hiring consultants. If, you remember talking with town council, they, didn't wanna be told that they needed additional, hiring of consultants." Board members agreed on grammar and readability fixes and asked for local imagery and a more concise executive summary.
Specific edits requested included fixing grammatical errors; improving figure readability; replacing non-Trophy Club photos with local businesses; updating maps so existing on- and off-ramps appear as current conditions rather than proposed; clarifying numbers of homes and market-analysis figures; and adding time frames and an action plan matrix. One board member suggested that section headings and the definition of a small-area plan be made clearer for readers.
EDC staff said the consolidated comments will be sent to McAdams for revision. The EDC expects to take final action on the plan at its June meeting, after which staff anticipates presenting the plan to the Town Council in July. Board members were invited to submit additional comments to staff before the Monday following the meeting so they could be included in the materials sent to McAdams.
No formal adoption occurred at this meeting; the board provided feedback and directed staff to produce a revised final for the EDC's June meeting.
