Board adopts updated employee handbook and delegates administrative updates to district leaders

The Franklin Public School District board voted to adopt an updated employee handbook and to delegate management, updates, and modifications to administration with annual board review.

At the meeting a board member moved to adopt the employee handbook as presented and to delegate its management and any updates to district administration with annual review of changes by the board. Another member seconded the motion. The board then voted in favor; the motion passed.

Board members were given a high-level review of the changes at a prior meeting and were offered time for questions at this meeting; none that blocked approval were raised. The board’s motion delegates authority to the district administrator and senior leaders to manage updates going forward, subject to an annual report to the board.

The approval is a formal policy action by the board; the updated handbook will be managed administratively per the motion.
