The concert’s theme and program — which included Cantina Band, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight,” Pirates of the Caribbean, an Avengers medley, “Remember Me,” The Magical World of Pixar, the Captain America march, Pure Imagination, Disney Around the Band Room, several jazz standards and “Hooked on a Feeling” — underscored a year of expanded repertoire across the school’s ensembles.
Music teacher (name not provided) said the program reflected steady student improvement and expressed personal gratitude. “I am so grateful for this job, and for all of my students,” the music teacher said. “I have truly loved being your teacher and making music with you every day this year.” The teacher also told eighth graders, “I am so proud of how much you guys have accomplished and improved this year.”
Performances were divided among several groups. The beginning ensembles opened the program; the beginning orchestra included three eighth graders — Fifi and Oliver on cello and Max on bass — and performed “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” A combined beginning/concert orchestra played Pirates of the Caribbean. The concert orchestra performed an Avengers medley and “Remember Me,” featuring solos by Tyson, Phoebe, Luke, Harvey and Kimble. The concert band performed Pure Imagination and Disney Around the Band Room and listed multiple eighth graders by name during its segment.
The jazz band closed the program with a Dixieland‑style “5 Foot 2,” “I Wanna Be Like You” (featuring solos from Emma, Aiden, Savannah and Luke) and “Hooked on a Feeling.” The teacher noted the jazz ensemble meets before school on Thursday mornings and said the group had progressed from being able to prepare a single book piece to performing three jazz charts: “But now they can play 3 pretty difficult pieces on actual, like, jazz charts,” the music teacher said.
The program acknowledged a guest trumpet player identified in the broadcast as “Mr. Wright.” The final on‑air signoff read, “This has been a CSD TV broadcast production for students by students.”
The teacher closed the concert by addressing eighth graders who will move on to high school: “I’ll still see most of you around especially if you’re going to Jordan High School next year.”
