Council approves design‑services contracts for Hebron Parkway reconstruction

Staff and engineering consultants said design would proceed across the corridor and that construction likely would be staged and phased; staff noted Denton County intends to participate in project funding. Council discussed the probability of a future bond package to fund construction and possible utility coordination costs.
John Wheat, director of engineering, said staff expects utility work and other construction costs beyond the design phase and that construction will be phased after completion of design. Council members expressed enthusiasm about moving design forward on a high‑travel corridor and thanked staff for progress.
